Joey, no seal just a brass bushing. The oil level is below that when mounted. The worm gear rides in oil that lubes both gears and shaft. I just finished putting mine togather today. I used two seals in each of the bearing retainers, they fit and I figure twos got to be better. The seals are cheap about 5 bucks each I think. Total gasket and seal set from Winer motors was 12.50 which includes two seals and I had two extra also. When you install gaskets for bearing retainers add them until you get 1/64 end play on the small shaft. Email me if you need more info.
