The laws & rules regarding auto wrecking are changing rapidly...& rightfully so. I love going to the scrap yard, but ever seen what they look like when it rains? Looks like the Valdes spill.
It seems the rules are changing to require scrap yards to be either fully enclosed in a huge building or else at least on a cement pad with drains where they collect all the run-off of contaminated rain water.(you can imagine what that would cost)
All big industry including ours(Shipbuilding) is under tight new regulations & many are just deciding that the risk of law suite & subsequent cost of doing business is just way to large.
