Longblock 350 replacement should be around half that, assuming you're getting your hands greasy. How's the TH400? Maybe replace them both (& a set of headers, an RV cam, K&N filter, & JET performance chip, torque converter) & gas money to Hollister & back for the $$ of a 383?
