The fact that the vibration occurs at a doubling of speed makes it almost certain that the problem is associated with a rotating part. Focus on the drive train first, not suspension parts. Especially eccentricities from imbalanced parts.

Also, one thing Kraus barely touches on is out-of alignment u-joints. See interesting discussion at the link below.
