Front end 'shimmy' can be caused by the following: Tires out of round or balance, front end alignment, worn or loose tie rod ends, loose wheel bearings, bad shocks, play in steering gear box, play in the steering system, drag link, steering arm etc. Any worn or loose ball joint will cause that. Th ebest way to track it down (after your tires have been spin balanced) is to put the entire front end up on axle stands and start at one wheel and vigorously shake the wheel both top to bottom and then side to side. If you have any freeplay, you will feel it or hear it.
I have had brand new trucks 'shimmy' at various speeds, some times only a steering stabilizer will cure it, BUT that is not a bandaid! Make sure your components are in good shape and adjustment first!
