Jumper;

The Motor supplied by Braden on the HU winch I put on my Bombardier is a Charlynn # 101-1028-009. Charlynn is a trade mark brand of the Eaton Corp Hydraulics Division, Eden Prairie, Mn. Do a search on Charlynn/Eaton Corp and you will find other motors that might be a better match you the pump your planning on using.

The pump I used on my Bombardier is a Cessna, 15 gpm at 2000 psi. It runs the winch, Back Hoe, and Power Angle Blade. The pump is a high rpm unit running off the front of the 251 Chrysler engine.

If your thinking about running a hydraulic system off the PTO on a PW, you will need to get a pump designed for PTO operation that will give flow/presure at the typical PTO output speeds of 540 RPMs approx. Trying to turn a high RPM pump at the lower PTO speeds will not get you anywhere. You will need OPEN spool type control valve. It is recomended that your hydraulic tank have a capacity in gallons equal to the flow of the pump. This means a 15 gpm pump shold have a 15 gallon tank. This serves to help keep the oil cooler and also aids in foaming.

If your planning on running a snow plow blade off the system, you will need to add a Hydraulic Priority Flow divider. The high flow rates from the pump would be fine on a winch, but on the smaller cylinders of a plow, would result in danger due to FAST cylinder speeds in/out. Even my back hoe operated way to fast and jerky until I added the Priority Flow Divider.

I have one extra Charlynn motor that with a coupling will couple to a MU2 or HU winch. I am presently working on my WC-53 and have a Cummins 4BTA which will have a NP-4500 with a Married NP-205 T Case. Until I actually set the engine and drive train in the truck, I dont know what space I will have for a drive shaft off the PTO to run my MU2 winch. It is possible if I dont have the space, that I will Power the MU2 with hydraulics and use the spare Charlynn motor.
Wont know that till early spring as this winter is Body work.

I have done a lot of hydraulic work and will be happy to answer any questions, Please email me to save Joes Bandwidth.

Paul
