1961 Fargo Power Wagon Town Wagon $14,000

1961 Fargo Power Wagon Town Wagon

383 engine with Edelbrock carb and scatpac intake
Rebuilt 727 short shaft transmission
Dana 44 front diff with 4:10 gears
Dana 60 rear diff with 4:11 gears
Original transfer case
Body off frame restoration was started in 1994 and finished in 1997 if they are truly ever finished. Since that time I have found both bumpers and had them rechromed had the rear end redone again as well as added a ladder bar setup and installed CV joint on the rear drive shaft trying to get a smoother ride. The truck was appraised at 20,000.00 Canadian in '97 and has had another 3 to 4 thousand dollars spent on it since then. The Fargo was upgraded to power brakes, power steering, and cruse control. It also has a tilt and telescoping steering column out of a Cordoba. It has a custom 4-core radiator to cool and make room for the 383. It was upgraded to 16" aluminum wheels and radial tires. The interior was redone with Ford Aerostar front seats, the floor was redone with new custom size plywood that was fiberglassed on both sides to prevent water absorption and rot. New interior side panels were fabricated out of steel to reach the bottom of the side windows. The side windows were custom cut from smoked glass and then sent out to be tempered. New carpets were installed and the rest was upholstered in velour and tweed.

A pop-top gas lid was installed in the side out of a 70 Charger. This truck comes with:

New spare tire
Original side windows
1959-dodge shop manual with part numbers and description of upgrades as well as paint codes.
Rechromed original side mirrors
Spare original side mirrors
Extra set of NOS taillights lenses
Extra set of new front axle bushings and hub seals.
1997 Insurance appraisal
This truck has had over one thousand hours invested in it during its restoration. Although it still needs some work. The oil pan needs to be relieved or converted to a rear sump pan as it just contacts the front diff if you hit a good bump.

There is a 4 inch hole in the dash to the left of the driver that I thought was for some something but found out later was not. I figured on putting a tach in the hole but have not gotten around to it yet.

Some sort of boot needs to be fabricated for the floor shifters.

The gentleman that did the CV joints and the ladder bar set up believes the rear end is still not quite right because it still develops a vibration at around 60 miles an hour he thinks the pinion bearing is loose, but also thinks it could be a tire balance problem or the rear end needs to be shimmed. After replacing the torque converter , installing a CV joint And ladder bars though it is 95% better.

The only other soft spot on the truck is the doors They were the best I could find at the time.

I am including this information as I have no intention of selling someone a pig in a poke.

I am asking 14,000.00 US dollars for this truck.

There is a CD-Rom Available for this truck with approx 60 jpeg images from start to finish as well as a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet of all the work I paid to have done as well as every part that was purchased for it. Serious inquires only please
