Hi Eric: I have dropped cigaretes in a pail of gas with no fire, BUT, I understand a tiny static electrical spark from synthetic clothing(not allowed in gas plants etc.) will blow you sky high. About 40 years ago my brother met a guy who soldered gas tanks in Northern Ontario only on certain days when the "humidity" was right??? But he may have put a bunch of dry ice in the tank & not told anyone. (CO2) I`m sure our fireman friends will put us straight. Best regards George
