What color were the bed skirts found on the first series bed between bed and cab? Were they painted cab/bed color, or just black? Mine are black (possibly satin, like chassis black).
We know the early bed panels were painted before assembly. This is evidenced by stainless or nickle-cad fasteners visible in factory photos and all crossmembers being black, including the rear crossmember that ties the two side panels together. I believe the tailgate hinges were black also.
What about the front fender skirts? Were these attached to fenders and painted gloss black or painted satin chassis black and then attached?
Guess I need to revisit some original trucks. Thanks!
