1. You do not have to probate a will here in Texas! When my mom died here a few years ago, I paid her outstanding bills,(my name was on all her bank accounts), and closed out her remaining bank accounts. Simple as can be.
2. Title transfer on her car was no problem. Took death cert. and title to Clerk of Courts office.They had me sign a form that I was sole heir and they notorized it. I took the form and title to County Tax Office and a title officer looked at it and filled out the transfer paperwork. Had new title in about a month.
