Pintle hitch off-center on FFs?

It appears to be off-set from the center of the frame crossmember around an inch. Any reason why, or was the one on my '53 FF added incorrectly? Discovered this while sizing up a rear bumper/hitch readying for installation (& wanting to keep the pintle where it's at). Thanks!
