DId you switch out the plug wires ? I just got done fighting a very similar problem on my B1, new ignition components including coil and plugs look good after it had started. I replaced the plug wires 3 years ago so I assumed it couldn't be them. However while I was working on the heater valve I got bit by a plug wire just barely touching it. Replaced the wires the next day and the problem went away. Starts on the first try, hot cold, wet or dry weather.
