Tread Separation (Firestone again)

I found just what I always wanted to find. On my truck and camper that I just got from my Dad's estate, there is a large bubble in the tread which means that I have tread separation. The tires are of course Firestone. They are Steeltex 265/75-16 Load range E. They have been run at 80 psi as rated and required by the load of the camper. I still have 2/3rds or more of the tread on the tire. I am going to try to make Firestone make good on the tires.

My brother and wife both said that there was some story on the news about Firestone Steeltex tires on the news. Did anybody see what it was? I would like to know.

My next question is what tires would be the best for this rig? I was not happy with the truck having Firestones on it with their recent history. I normally run nothing but Michelins but I have not, as yet, found a tire in their line up that is rated high enough. What do you guys recommend? With the truck and camper the rear axle must be loaded close to 6000#. I suspect the camper is 4000# itself and most of the load is on the rear axle. It is a F350 Super Duty and is down just to it's overload springs (yes I am going to get airbags in the rear). So it is not a light load. It has a single axle as it spends too much time off road for a dual rear axle. The only other tire, besides Firestone, that I have reservations on are BF Goodrich tires. I have seen several sidewall failures (bubbles) on a similar truck and camper setup.
