The bigger the tow vehicle, the more control you will have with a towed load. I would use the bigger F-350 over the Dakota if it was my choice. Also, be sure to get the proper amount of tongue weight to keep the trailer stable. I measure the rear bumper height unloaded, and then try to get 2-inches of droop with the loaded trailer on my 3/4-ton Dodge Cummins Diesel. After loading, be sure to SLOWLY bring the load up to speed while braking and turning to check for stability. Nothing turns your hair white quicker than having a loaded trailer push you all over the road.
