Goofy Question 783-A (for this month)

1)Why are radiators black? Wouldn't it make more sense to paint them white, or some reflective color like "silver" or something so they would have that much LESS heat to deal with?

2)What ever happened to bumper guards? Are they gone because today's bumpers are plastic and foam and so forth and designed to absorb the impact of a collision? My '74 Dart had them, and my sisters ex-police Polara, and my Dad's Country Sedan.....When were they introduced?

MAN! And I thought Checker cabs were COOL!
