I dont believe that the suspension is causing this problem. But you may have a good point about angling the transfer case up in the front to decrease the angle. This would also decrease the angle of the shaft to the rear wheels, but it would increase the angle of the shaft to the front wheels. I may be able to find a compromise. I'll give it a try.

Also, on the driveshaft shortening, I dont think that I have the room on a FFPW jackshaft to cut and weld. I was thinking that pulling apart the 2 halves and cutting down a section of each end and reassembling them would also work ok.
