Voltage Limiter??????

The 74 W200 saga continues. I understand that there is something called a voltage limiter which drops the voltage for the temp, gas, and oil pressure guages. Since none of these gauges work on my truck I'm guessing I need to check it out. Where is it? What does it look like and where can I find a new one if I need it?
I have a maintence manual which does a good job of describing how to test it but does not give any other descriptions. Thanks all.
