I would start with as low cost,rust free truck as possible such as the red 1964 WM300
listed in the photo classified section.
It runs but needs the brakes reworked or you could just convert to the disc. brake setup.
Not too many parts will be needed to make it a driver and the 64 and newer trucks do not have the small cowl lights that can be damaged when 4-wheeling.
If you find a good deal on a parts truck and the cab is rusted out too much and only good for a parts,save the door tag w/ID# that matches the frame having the same ID# stamped on on it. Someone may not have ,but may want a matching vin. on the frame and doorpost.
