This is a big can of worms...but if you work the winch alot the pto is a great way to go. Electrics have their pluses; easy to install, fast, work with engine dead(not for long), less $, but in the long run a pto will out last, out work, and out perform the electrics. I have had several of both and the pto is the way to go for work. For recreational use every other hunting season the electric will work, but for frequent extended use go pto.
