My B1PW/Hercules/NP540 conversion (GM type bolt pattern, GM cast iron truck type bellhousing, opening on left side) uses hanging pedals and hydraulic master cylinders for brakes and clutch. The pedals and cylinders are from my 77 Landcruiser FJ45 Perkins conversion (now a parts vehicle). The pedals are in a bracket that bolts to the firewall. I also used a Landcruiser slave cylinder. Advance Adapters has some sort of bolt on part to adapt a LC slave cylinder to a GM bellhousing. I drilled and tapped the bellhousing and block-to-bellhousing steel adapter plate for studs for the slave cylinder. Works well; I now have the added safety of a dual braking system with vacuum assist (the motor came with a belt driven vacuum pump, the master cylinder is vacuum boosted).
