A divorced transfer case is one that is mounted seperately from transmission, and conected to it by a 3rd. (usually realy short) driveshaft. All of the WDX-WM300 PW's are built this way. A "married" transfer case is mounted directly to the back of the transmission, and the truck has only 2 driveshafts. I believe that all (?) Dodge trucks were devorce mounted UNTIL they went with the full time 203 transfer case (and disc brakes, and the "BAD" front hub design) in 1975. I also believe that all (?) Dodge trucks since 1975 have been married transfer case mountings. My 72 w200 has a 318, 435 4speed, divorced 205 t-case, drum brake dana 44 in front, and a dana 60 out back, and should be pretty typical of the trucks up to the end of the74 model year. One hint, MOST of the w200's that came with the 203 t-case (75 -79) ALSO came with Sure Grip rear difs, and are a good place to look if you want a limited slip rear axle. J.V.L.
