I have gotten so many messages asking for information on the 1948 PW I have for sale I felt I should explain
a bit more on the condition of the truck. Yes I am, should, have too, get out of this hoby and get into something
that isn't dependent on my physical condition. I was turned down for back operation number 3 and was told to
stop doing anything that wasn't absolutly neccessary to my survival, it was finaly a big enough scare I am
doing my best to change. If you saw the original picture of my PW you will have noticed a real change. The change was
brought on by the city I live in. They gave me notice that the truck either had to be registered or they would tow
it at my expence, I could have complyed by building a garage to keep it in but that wasn't possible. A combination
of a good theropist, burning down my supply of pain killers and a break in the bad weather I was able to do a
ROUGH cheap restoration. Having sold my shop equipment and not having access to a paint booth I spray painted
the truck with a good rust inhibitor primer and paint. I didn't do any body work except for rough sanding the body,
mostly the cab before spraying it. My goal was to get it inspected and registered before the city responded or winter
came on which is all but here in the Rockys. Along with the cheap paint job I put in all the cab glass & rubber, installed the
new master, front wheel cylinders (good brake shoes all around), replaced the flex brake lines to the front wheels,
the metal lines on the front axle, new head lights, blinker lights front& back, new brake light (only one required),
new brake light switch, had the seat reupolstered, replaced all the fluids, and put in a new battery. I took It out
to the mountains by my house and it climbs like a goat, hi/lo work fine, 4 wheel works fine the only thing I forgot was
the temporary seat wasn't bolted down and as I started down the last STEEP hill to go home everything slid forward
into the dash. (just got the reupolsted seat back this weekend). Whats left? detail the doors- paint panels install the new
weather striping, finish installing the new gages (except speedo, it works fine) install new the belt and radiator hoses,
finish detailing the interior, paint wiper covers, gear levers, floor, glove box door, polish logos and reinstall, its close
to being done, if the weather continues to hold. I have been driving it around (past the city offices at every opportunity) and if it had
decent tires with out flat spots it would ride nice. If this doesn't answer all your questions I'll be glad to respond by e-mail.
I have sent out too many pictures and made too many phone calls at my expence, not that I'm complaining I just can't
afford to keep spending the cash to sell this, the response has just been to big (Thanks Joe, excellent site and great help on the
ad). Sorry for bending your ears, I have loved this site and will miss the fun.

Frank
