Yes, you can put an output shaft at the "offset" rear bearing retainer and make a 6X6. That's how the WC62/63 works. That transfer case is the same as the M37 except for 1.5:1 low range gearing. the M37 case was refined into the NP205. Many 205 and M37 parts are interchangeable. I am looking into installing a Gear Vendors overdrive with the NP205 kit on a 48 Power Wagon case, perhaps with a NP205 or later M37 (2-piece) rear output bearing retainer.
