The \6 setup that most closely matches the flathead six was installed in 1/2-3/4 tons from late 60 through 64. Any 60 - 79 \6 will do, but the bellhousing changed in 64, along with the motor mounts and mounting horns in the frame. If you can find an early \6 setup it may almost be a dropin. With the later setup you will be fab'ing the rear cross member to get it to fit.
The bell housing from the 61-64 318 may be drilled for the \6. I have a 61 \6 truck and the bell housing for a early 318 (64) and they appear to be the same.
If you are in Northern Ut bring a tape measure by. I'll be taking my cab off the frame soon.
