I have a 1961 W200 crew cab with a slant 6 and I would like transplant V-8 in it. I have also a 1961
318 polysphere (wide block) engine which came out of a similar vehicle. The old 318 has a two bbl. carburetor. I understand there tons
of performance parts available for the new style 318 but little or none for the old style 318.What advantages does the old style 318
have,with it's limited performance parts availability, if any, over the newer 318? Is the wide block a satisfactory performer in it's
stock configuration? The truck is mainly used for weekend playing around and duck hunting which can get very muddy at times.Does anyone know of
a source for performance parts (4 bbl. intake, cam) for the old polysphere?
