You need to buy new cable, i would put 9/16 about 85 feet is all. Anymore and you will wrap up with texas cowboy loops, is it worth it when blade drops on persons foot or snaps while buttin a tree and falls on you and kills you or someonw watching? Get a grip, man, the blade weighs 7000 pounds, and you want to put rotten, wrong lay surplus? IWRC is the standard, got to a wire rope store and tell them you have a d-7 with a CCU and need either 1/2 or 9/16. do you have a 25 or 29 unit, turbo or non? Good luck with your new cable, i pay about .90$ a foot down here in south texas. Wire rope and sling company will be cheaper than Cat dealer. I have a source for new cable control manuals, parts, operators manual etc, just email and i will dig it up. Your life is on line, buy the good stuff and correct for the job!
