Got a problem with my 74 Dodge truck. Seems when running the heater the fuse end is getting real hot. Slightly melting the fuse box but its mostly melting the end off the fuse. The silver cap will come right off. Seems to do it faster when the fan is on high. I put a new fuse in and drove 3 blocks and had a smell of solder and checked the new fuse and there was a small ball of liquid solder on the glass tube of the fuse. Its not blowing the fuses just unsoldering the end cap from the fuse link. All connections are good. I even ran a ground wire from the blower motor thinking I had a weak ground. The fan speed switch has also been replaced. Any ideas out there?

Some one had suggested the blower motor was getting bad and pulling more amps then it should creating heat. Its a 20amp fuse in the fuse box. Is it 20 amps continuous or is it a lot lower.
I also thought maybe I had a bad fuse box and was gonna replace it with the one from my parts truck but it is melted out real bad in the fuse area so this appears to be a common problem on these old trucks. ANy ideas?

Todd
