Yes I remember now I read the post last night. Could not come up with a answer. The Big Block Motor Homes had a heat shield built into the manifold gaskets. It came up on the high side to keep the heat away from the valve covers. Give it I try. The valve covers must be in good shape. Most have been overtighten to much. Good luck Bill.
