Maybe this is a little off subject, but I read an item in the 10/7 issue of TIME magazine about something called spyware. It's not a virus, but it hides on your hard drive anonymously behind programs that you install(downloading files off networks is a frequent way of getting it). Mostly it's used for unwanted marketing stuff like keeping track and giving you even more pop-up ads than you already get. But it also can keep track of anything you do on the computer while your browser is open. Even the most secure and protected computers can get it. The website they recommend for PC users is lavasoftusa.com to dowload a free utility called Ad-Aware. (Mac folks can get Spring Cleaning ($50) from Aladdin Systems.) The article speculated that if this kind of thing can happen, who knows who else can get at your stuff? Just FYI for everyone.
