If you've ever noticed that your electronic ignition chrysler fires up as you let go of the key, that means the 'start' side of the double resistor is bad. The start side has lower resistance and is energized by the solenoid through one of the little wires. It gives a hotter spark to make up for the voltage drop as the starter soaks up all the electricity. Even thought the start side is only used 1% of the time, it usually goes out first.
