Not being old enough to have actually driven a W62/63 all I have to go on is what I have read and from what I've been told by guys who were there. And it's just as Paul has said, when the WC62/63's got to Europe, they all got bogged down in the mud. Now I've also read that because the WC62/63's had a tendency for getting stuck that Dodge started suppling them with Detriot Lockers. But these must be VERY RARE 'cause I've yet to hear of someone who has one. As for the two rear axles being the same or different, they are the same to a point. Because of the way they were powered (each rear axle having it's own drive shaft), one axle has an offset third member and the other is a centered diff. Both use the same third member though just like the front one. Basically what was most priced from the WC62/63 is the 1.5:1 transfer. The other WC's and the earlier VC's all had single speed transfers and after the war when Dodge started making the flat fender Power Wagon's, these had 1.96:1 transfers. So for those who wanted a better sellection of gear ranges, the transfer from a WC62/63 was much sought after. It provided 8 forward gears as to the 6 that the 1.96:1 transfer that the WDX/WM300 Power Wagon has. Robert
