Off Subject but, I need a little help with a 99/ 318

I can't get any help locally without paying the dealers service charge. I would like to leave that for a last choice. Here goes, my 99 Dodge Van, 1500, 318 magnum has a fresh tune up and still pings a little when pulling a hill or just passing at 70 mph.. Has anyone got any ideas? Is it true that they can update my onboard computer and correct this problem? How can I check for an internal intake gasket leak? Is it pull the PCV and hold a finger on it to see if it dies or not??? (If it dies there's no leak?) Could it be the EGR valve? Knock sensor?
Just a little stumped here but, not totally :^{
