what is the max weight you plan to put on the stand? Do you plan to turn the channel on the side "[" or flat? Why not locate the a single axle near the center, that will allow you to pivot the stand side to side, two straight axles will not turn. Remember you don't need to be anywhere near as heavy as a car frame. A car frame is design to handle 400+ ft.lb. of torque and the dynamic load of a 600 lb. engine after the car hits a bump at 70 mph. People always under estimate the strength of steel, look how thin the motor mounts are.
