cheap paint question

i am in the process of doing the paint and body work on one of my w100s. I am not into restoring vehicles to mint cindition. i would rather have them look "nice" and be used as a truck and not worry about scratches etc. what is a good cheap paint to use? is rustoleum primer compatible with automotive paint?
