...is that Bush and the republicans are so anti-labor. I don't know that this country could survive on $10/hr or less without benefits. Which is exactly where things would end up in a decade or so if they had complete control. Unions gave us 40 hour work weeks and paid vacations. (Think overtime and your weekends off to do what you like.) They also gave us insurance and decent working conditions. Talk to anyone who lived through the depression about what it was like to work then. Fourteen hour workdays were the norm. Some companies would give time off on Sunday for church, but not all of them. Some of the ones that did expected you to show up for work after church. And believe it, there are people working around the clock right now trying to take all of it back. I don't think republican rule is the answer. How about deportation? ;)
