Robert,
Looks like quite a project!
First order of business should be to check the truck over for obvious damage, and old repars that were not done right.
Check major items for wear, steering knuckles, steering box, engine, etc, etc, etc.
Once you know what you are dealing with then you can start to plan your work.
There is no point in cleaning and painting the engine if it is locked up! Or some kind of advice like that.
