A simple once a month rotate upside down, slap with your hand a few times and you are in good shape.

In truck mounted systems, the packing is a real problem. One of our Engines held 1000 pounds of Purple K and discharged at 100 pounds per second, along with the ability to discharge up to 1000 gpm of AFFF-ATC, in a twin agent attack. Fluffers were built into the nitrogen feed lines in the Dry chemical tank. These were cross piping like a christmas tree with many holes on the top of the pipes. When the system was
armed, the nitrogen would come out of the top holes in all the pipes and pre fluff the Purple K. Kind of hard to turn the Engine upside down and slap the tank (grin).
