I want to pass this warning on, now that we are aware that our Power Wagons can catch fire. In the latest issue of Military Vehicles Magazine {page 138} there is an article on Fire Extinguishers. One of the types they recommend is the Halon type because it is less messy. BE CAREFUL!! Halon will kill you, very quickly. Halon fights fire by displacing oxygen. It can also displace oxygen very fast in your lungs. We lost a young Marine here after he sqeesed the handel of a Halon extinguisher just to check it. It happened that fast, and he was in a huge warehouse. The fire department could not save him. I have used Halon to fight an engine fire on a CH46 helicopter, The fire kept on reflashing on me because halon does not leave any residue to prevent a reflash. If you have a Halon Extinguisher, I would turn it into your fire Department. This way, if you use a"messy" extinguisher, you will be around to clean it up and have dinner that night with your family.
One of the few, the proud, Frank
