The NP 540 OD I put in my truck had a slightly different mounting pattern than the 420 it replaced. The 540 used the large square pattern on my bell. Whereas the 420 used the same mounting holes on the right side and top left, but on the bottom left side, it used a mounting hole about half way between the top and bottom mounting holes in the bell.
