The upper cone is Bronze and requires adjust to 25-28lbs of drag. If you don't do this, you can experience front end shimmy. Under the upper caps are steel shims you add and remove to do this. Adirondack Dodge under part sources sells M37 knuckle repair kits that has the felt retaining ring gasket, upper/lower felt seals and steel shims. They go for about $15 each and it takes a kit for each side. After you reassemble the knuckle halfs, ajust the bearing drag before you assemble the felt seals. Soak your felt seals in motor oil before installing. Since your going to a lot of work, I also recommend you replace the bronze axle bushings and inner seals. M37 also works here. This will put your front end in good shape. A good repair manual is also helpful.
