I was just going to do a post like this one. I have a 76 Dodge, 400ci, with a Carter AFB, I just rebuilt it... not even three days ago. Got it up in the hills Saturday and guess what I couldn't keep the damn thing running. It looked as though the secondaries were leaking profusely, so I did a quick teardown on the trail and replaced the gaskets on the secondaries (always carry all my tools and spare misc parts). It didn't work right at all, still couldn't keep it running. Stalled out everytime I pushed the clutch in or tried to climb over a rock, I discovered through my fathers infinite wisdom that the floats were set too high. So I'm going to try and lower them. But I'm glad to know I wasn't the only one who had problems in the hills this weekend. That's embarassing. Especially when people with newer trucks compliment you and want to follow. I found a really cool trail too... Oh well. Another weekend I guess.
