I've seen a lot of phalic envy on the trail, two weeks ago I was given a standing ovation by the Land Rover group as I trailed a group of Hummers. My CJ was applauded as the "Hummer Recovery Vehicle". It is pretty pointless since the Humvee was designed as a Military replacement for the Jeep and eventually built by Jeep (AMC) a fact that even most Hummer owners are not aware of. Unless you drive a rice burner, live and let live. I felt very welcomed into the Hummer group and we had a great time.
I am sure that in it's day the Power Wagon was looked upon with scorn by ferd and chity owners who were A) unable to afford one and B) unable to follow one off road. I'm guessing that those clowns who flipped-off Jonas also send out fathers day cards to their "uncle".
