Last Summer 2001, I shopped around for transport of a PW from CA to CO. The going rate at that time ranged from $0.75 per mile $0.95 per mile. I had great service from Brad Bottom who is a regular on this Forum for $0.85 per mile. Brad uses "Map Quest" to determine the general distance from town to town and uses that for his rate. He does not squabble about the extra few odometer miles at either end nor about nasty driveways. Besides that he knows a lot about old PW's & tractors. The rate at any given time for any hauler reflects cost of fuel and potential for loaded pre & post legs of the trip. I suppose a rolling chassis would be rated the same as a complete truck, but parts making up partial loads (like cabs and beds) might be charged at more of a flat rate rather than a per-mile rate. Such was the case when Cheyenne Dave delivered my snow plow from NY to CO on a trailer load of very miscellaneous parts. Good Luck, Bruce
