The Hummer uses the GM 6.2 Diesel for the older ones and the 6.5 GM Diesel on the newer ones. The 6.9 engine was the Navistar IH predecessor to the 7.3 Diesel used in Ford trucks....

I THINK Jonas may have been talking about driving the new Hummer H-2 model. The Hummer H-2 is built on GM's GMT-800 Chassis.

The GMT-800 Chassis platform is used the Suburban, Tahoe, Avalance, Hummer H-2, Yukon,and Azteck, and Escalade. All the Hummer H-2 is a overglorified Suburban, with a high price tag and a bit of resembleance to the Hummer. The H-2 is strictly civilian.

The Factory I work in makes seat latches for the Hummer H-2.

....and just think! I think my '92 Ford truck is too new!
