Do you by chance have a tractor (or a friend with one) with rear wheels large enough to strap the tank to? If so, put a couple handfuls of chain links in it, strap it to a wheel (the rim, not the tire!) and go mow or brush hog for a couple hours. I've done it on several tractor gas tanks and they come out quite nice. Has the added advantage of an excuse to go play on the tractor...
