JC Whintey used to have a big porcelin resister that would do this.....but that may have changed. I have heard that on old 1970s Mopar cars, the gauges were stepped down to 6 volts using a little device on the back of each gauge. Take a look at the back of a gauge cluster and see if I am right. On my PW, the only gauge that will need changing is the fuel gauge, as the ammeter doesn't measure volts, just current, and the oil and water gauges are mechanical. I haven't tackled the fuel gauge yet.
