I haven't checked all the compression ratios, but I think you are probably right.

Milling the head is easy, cheap and ensures a flat surface for mounting.

You can also use a cylinder head from a smaller displacement engine, like a 237 or a 251 for your 265. The CR will be increased in proportion to the change in displacement. Of course, don't use a cylinder head from a larger displacement engine on a smaller one or you will decrease the CR.

If you mill, 60 thou shoudl be ok but get some confirmation on this...I have never one this on a big block engine..
