One of my Spicer publications lists the max recommended angle for 1500 RPM as 11.5 degrees, for 2000 is 8.7 degrees. This is for continious use, so I'm sure you could do more for intermittant use. Also, as you go longer on the shaft, you have to use bigger tube. Spicer says for 2000 RPM: 58" max length for 1.75" x.065" wall welded, 62" for 2.50" x .083" welded, 85" for 3.0" x .083" welded. Numbers for 1500 RPM are about 10% higher. To transmit 100 HP at 1800 RPM, with a 1.25 Power Factor (recommended for Gasoline engines) your drive shaft should be rated at about 360 lb. ft. torque. The spicer 1410 medium duty series (about 4" wide joint)will do that at 1800 RPM. The 1350 series is a bit shy (about 280). As you get up to 20 degree angles, you should double the torque capacity to maintain the 5000 hour nominal life under full load, so that would put you with a 1550 or 1610 heavy duty (about 5.25") U-joint. So, sounds like an old PW drive shaft would hold up for a while! Good luck! Rob
