It was a wonderful weekend again out here in California to go 4 wheeling. My 17 son in his 1975 Bronco all decked out, Jay Massy of Yuba City in his CJ and me in my 1948 Dodge Power Wagon. The dodge had a easy time again through the rock trails. I put 38" boggers on the stock split rims and put my 5.83 gears back in with a Lock Right in the rear(no more 4.89s). You do not need to put a locker in the front. The truck goes over everthing that the tricked out trucks can do, and sometimes even easier. No power steering. I have a box and a pump, but I may never put it in. The truck seems to know when it needs to turn the wheel when it has to, just keep your thumbs out of the steering wheel. My nephew Chris (13 years old) drove my PW on the trail with no problem. There was your share of other vehicles that had mishaps over the weekend. A Toyota FJ40 had flipped completely over and did some seroius damage right next to our camp sight. A Braden winch and a strap pulled back on all fours. The driver was O.K. The passenger had a bump on the head. Gasoline had spilled all over the passenger, A fire extingusher was there in a blink. I did learn a few knew things on this trip, a FULL ROLL CAGE is a must when four wheeling. The fj40 had some serious damage to his rig and the passenger could have been a gonner. A air tight gas cap would have been nice in this situation. These trucks (PW) are designed and meant to be used in very rugged terrain. When I take my truck out on the trail or even to do some work around the home, it can do things that no other truck can compare to. If you own a Dodge Power Wagon, use it. It is a tool that can take it. Don't be afraid to put it in 4low. A little dirt on the tires is O.K. Hope to see you on the trail one day. Paul Ivazes
