Here's the scoop: 49 state high output 2003 rating 305bhp @ 2900 rpm, 555lp.-ft. @1400rpm
49state standard output engine 2003 rating 250bhp @2900rpm, 460lb.-ft. @1400 rpm
Cal. standard output engine 2003 rating
235bhp @2700rpm, 460lb.-ft.1400rpm
The cummins engine is certfied by EPA as "medium-heavy duty" based on its expectant life, versus "light-heavy duty" designations for competitive engines.
The high output engine is not available in
California and also will have a catalytic converter for the other 49 states the exhaust needs no after-treetment to meet emission standards
Transmission options are mostly carried over from last year are the NV4500 five-speed and the NV5600 six-speed. automatic will be 48RE and will be available with the high-output engine
Both front and rear Dana axles will be replaced by "American Axle Corporation", 3.73 will replace the 3.55 ratio, the 4.10 will still be available.
Hope this helps Ken
